Data Protection and Privacy

All data collected will be used and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR, following current UK regulations.

How your data will be used

Data collected from you will only be used to enable me to write and send invoices and session reports to you after an Equine Touch session with your horse and to be able to contact you regarding further visits. Details relating to your horse are so I can get a full picture of your horse’s care plan to enable me to give your horse the appropriate bodywork and give you appropriate advice.

Your personal data will not be passed to any third parties for any reason and you have the right to request access to any information held about you or to request your information to be deleted.

Information about your horse that I pick up from my work with your horse whilst performing Equine Touch may be shared with your horse’s veterinary surgeon or other health professionals so they are aware of what I have found as it may help them with diagnosis of any problems. You will be asked before I share that information on each occasion.

What data will I hold?

The data I will need to hold will be your name, contact details such as address, email and phone number. The yard address where your horse is kept and details and history about your horse including the veterinary practice, farrier/trimmer, any other health care professional that sees your horse.

How long will I keep your information for?

Legally for insurance purposes I have to keep your session records for 5 years. Personal data and invoices will be kept for 6 years to comply with HMRC regulations.

If you have contacted me enquiring about an Equine Touch session for your horse but then not followed it up with an appointment then any details and records of the conversation will be deleted after 6 months. Please be aware that some messenger platforms are hard to permanently delete conversations from.

Photo usage

You will be given the option to opt in or out during the first booked Equine Touch session as to whether you are happy for photos of your horse (and possibly you) to be used on my social media pages and website. There is absolutely no obligation to opt in.
